My favorite is planning her wedding for the end of June. I have decided to give a bridal shower for her at our house. Her favorite flowers have always been daisies and carnations. I went to the local farmers market the day before the shower and purchased large bunches of daisies and carnations to make flower arrangements for the shower. I had gone to the floral shop the previous week to purchase floral arrangements, but after finding out the prices I decided to do them myself. The florist is the individual that recommended that I go to the farmers market to purchase the flowers, especially since they were both in season. I thought it might be like a flea market as well, and I could grab some wholesale wedding favors. By buying the flowers that were in season I was able to save even more.
When I got home from the farmers market I cut the size the daisies and carnations to different lengths and made floral arrangements in 3 crystal vases to place around the house. I still had sufficient flowers left to do a small arrangement for the bathrooms. It's always an appreciated touch to place fresh cut flowers in the bathroom when you're entertaining. When you do your own arrangements you can use your own vases, which adds to the special touch.
The morning of the bridal shower I checked the flower arrangements to see if they needed more water. They were still looking fresh and the bright colors of the flowers made the rooms feels warm & homey.
My niece appreciated the lovely and wonderful gifts that the guests had brought. And she hadn't even seen the wholesale wedding favors I bought yet! We visited and gave pieces of advice to the bride about having a long and happy marriage. I had framed some pictures that I had gotten from the mom of the bride & mother of the groom. I had photos of the two of them growing up as well as pictures of the two of them on assorted vacations that they have taken together. My niece was so satisfied with these that she made the decision to use them at the wedding reception also, together with the wholesale wedding favors. We also ate a light lunch and had cake that I had also adorned with fresh cut flowers.
